    Our initial meeting together will be dedicated to assessing your current needs, ensuring we connect and that we are complimenting for one another to work together.

    It is normal to have concerns when it comes to embarking on the transition from maiden to mother. I’ll work closely with you to nurture ease by providing a non-bias perspective, clarifying information and support during your transformation.

  • Integrative

    On top of supporting you with healthy and individualized tools for your birth I support you with useful practices such as mindfulness, breath work and more to nourish you gently into motherhood.

What is a doula

The word ‘Doula’ is a Greek word that translates to “a woman’s servant”.
The role of a doula is to do just that… To serve. To support women throughout the rite of passage that is Matrescence. To share experiential wisdom, provide unbiased, research-based knowledge, emotional support and physical connection as well as comforts to women, their partners and families.

Is A DOULA LIKE A MIDWIFE?

Doula’s are not midwives or medical practitioners. We do not perform clinical or medical tasks or make decisions for you. We support your emotional/physical/spiritual needs and can be your voice during times when your energy is directed at birthing. The value of a doula is not to be underrated.

Does my doula support my partner?

Doulas are there to support both you AND your partner. This is a sacred experience for you both as a couple and I am here to ensure that you are able to connect with one another throughout this tender time. As your doula, it is my intention to nourish your partner with the support and compassion needed so that they can enjoy their own right of passage that occurs when a new baby is born.

When Do I need A Doula?

At times a doula is called upon to support a woman through the continuum of preconception, to nourish one throughout pregnancy, to accompany one at birth or to replenish one in the postpartum period. Often, the doula is called upon to serve a woman throughout them all.

What Will You Do as My Doula?

As your doula I am here to support you have the soul satisfying journey you crave and know is possible. I am here to remind you of your power as you experience the birth that you both dream of and define. No matter how and where your journey takes you, I will be there, providing the continuity of care that all mothers deserve.

What Are The Main Benefits of a Doula?

Studies have shown that births supported by a doula:
25% experience a shorter labour
30% reduction in use of pain relief
39% reduction in rate of caesareans
40% reduction in use of synthetic hormones to induce labour
60% reduction of epidural requests/usage
