Cacao Lover’s Bliss Ball Recipe
These bliss balls have quickly become a favourite among my clients of late. So much so, that I now have some mama’s/doula clients requesting I bring them to every pregnancy or postpartum catch-up. So I have decided to share this loved recipe here for both my clients who have become bliss ball enthusiasts haha and for anyone else who loves a simple yet delicious treat!
Please know, with ANY recipe I ever share, that the measurements are approximated as closely as possible. I am known for allowing my creativity to go rogue in the kitchen, so that means one kitchen creation will never ever be the exact same to another due to always having fun exploring with new variations of something that worked out well in the past.
Ingredients:
1 cup of lightly roasted almonds
1/4 cup of cacao powder
1/2 cup of natural crunchy peanut butter
2 tablespoons of local honey
1 tablespoon of authentic maple syrup
1/3 cup of organic hemp seeds
1 tablespoon of organic coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla paste or vanilla extract
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon Reishi mushroom powder
Method:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees.
Place almonds on a lined tray and place in oven until lightly roasted (approximately 5-10 minutes). Then allow almonds to cool.
Once almonds have cooled, place them into a food processor/blender on high until the almonds are closer to a powder-like consistency.
Then add all remaining ingredients to the food processor, gradually turning up the speed until the mix is thoroughly combined.
Using your loving hands, roll small balls (approx a heaped teaspoon for size reference) into the palms of your hands until the mixture has all been used.
Transfer to a large glass jar or container to be placed into fridge for atleast 1hr, as this allows the balls to firm and become a desired fudge-like consistency.
Tips & Comments:
The roasted almonds allow for the balls to have a really delicious aroma and flavour, however if you are short for time, you can skip the roasting step.
If the balls are a little dry and crumbly when rolling, slowly add a few drops of additional coconut oil to the mix, until your desired consistency is achieved.
Add organic red rose petals or crushed peanuts on top of balls for aesthetic and additional flavour.
Can be stored in fridge for consumption for up to 7 days (if they aren’t eaten before then hehe).
ENJOY MY LOVES! X
